In My Mailbox (2)- Week of Christmas

So, everyone, Christmas just passed so I have a lot to share. Being a teenager, my parents think it's odd of me to only ask for books, but really, they're glad I ask for mostly books instead of a new ipod (instead of my crappy nano) or a new cellphone instead.
IMM is a meme started by TheStorySiren.
Here are the books I received:

From Contest;
The Dresskeeper: Mary Naylus

From BookMooch;
Rewind: Laura Dower

For Christmas;
Heck, I am far too lazy to write the names & authors of all these books. Damn, I don't think popularity for me in the blogosphere will go very far with me if I keep this up :D

Oh, and what's not in the picture is (not including from contests' and from bookmooch):
Maximum Ride Manga 1 & 2 by James Patterson.

Gahh, someone make me known in this large blog-bookosphere we have!

Review on As You Wish: Jackson Pearce

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Book Summary (On Book):

Ever since Viola's boyfriend broke up with her, she has spent her days silently wishing—to have someone love her again and, more importantly, to belong again—until one day she inadvertently summons a young genie out of his world and into her own. He will remain until she makes three wishes.
Jinn is anxious to return home, but Viola is terrified of wishing, afraid she will not wish for the right thing, the thing that will make her truly happy. As the two spend time together, the lines between master and servant begin to blur, and soon Jinn can't deny that he's falling for Viola. But it's only after Viola makes her first wish that she realizes she's in love with Jinn as well . . . and that if she wishes twice more, he will disappear from her life—and her world—forever.

Wow! What to say about this book? I got it today, aka christmas, and i finished it today (because I have no life). It's about, as the summary says, a girl who summons a jinn, who is like her own little genie here to grant the girl, Viola, 3 wishes.

The starting of this book, for me, was great. The point of this book began from the start and it kept you wanting more from the first words. The characters (Viola, Jinn, & Lawrence) were all perfectly scripted: the gay exboyfriend, the annoying but totally in love with you boy, and the one who feels broken. For Lawrence (Viola's bestfriend/ex), you'd think you only get to see him from Viola's point-of-view, but no. Jinn also has chapters in the book which makes everything, including characters like Viola & Lawrence, more clear. So, I really enjoyed seeing into the two main characters heads.

In all, I have heard mostly great stuff about this book, and whoever liked this book was right to, because to me, it was lacking nothing. Everything was there, and all the little extra pieces of Viola's/Jinn's lifes just made the story more exciting (for example: the talk of roses & Viola's love for painting).

I rate this book 9 1/2 Live Zombies. (Dead Zombies are baddd.)

Random Day! (The Hangover?)

okay, so I'm in my living room with my parents, their friends, my sister and my nephew and we're all watching The Hangover, even though I've already see it. Lemme just say now, that if you don't think that movie is funny, I don't think you have a funny bone in your body. (just kidding... kinda.) This movie is soooo hilarious, but to really enjoy you should be older, which makes sense considering how perverted and bad this movie is. But, jeez, it's just sooo friggin' funny! lol. Sorry for my randomness but laughing is my life and I just had to write about how happy this movie makes me<3!

Princess Bookie:

Everyone knows about the 12 Blogs of Christmas, right?

My Future Contest;

I have so many books I wish to give away! But.... I can only do that if many people will enter to win a book, and that's not going to happen if I only have 9 followers, now is it? So, since I barely even know how to use twitter (I'm new there), please help me spread the word and tell me or link to wherever you did spread the word about me for future extra entries.

For example, I soon plan to give away Crashed by: Robin Wasserman (sequeal to Skinned). Also, I would like to give someone The Otherworldies by: Jennifer Anne Kogler.

oh, and p.s.- does anyone else love sailor moon like I do? omg, i am obsessed with that show!

love, nikki @ nicoliolipoli (hiya, it's nikki).

Teaser Tuesday (1)

This is my first ever teaser tuesday. That just goes to show that I'm growing in my blog and maybe some day I'll be more popular than R.Pattinson! Okay... maybe not.

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly meme that was started by MizB from Should Be Reading.

ANYWAYS! Here are my two Teasers from Naked Eye by Francine Pascal.

"Jasmine!" Gaia shouted. "Tell your mama you have to leave! You have to leave right now!" She paused to listen, but there was only a hissing static on the line. "Jasmine? Jasmine!"

She'd been waiting for this reunion for two days, only now that it was happening, she wasn't sure what to do. Kiss him? Punch him? Both?

These teasers rock... right?! lol.

A little about me?

So, i have to type extremely fast because I need to be somewhere in less than 15 minutes and I don't even have pants on! haha. well, i want to take up five minutes just to say that hi, i'm nikki. i'm new to blogging, but i've got the hang of it. i hope to have manyy contests in the future, for i have manyy books.

i love coughtwilightcough. don't hold it against me, it was a good book, and when i read it in seventh grade that is what lead me to become a book lover, so i totally owe stephanie meyer. i love paranormal romances, they keep me entertained. my friends believe me to be a 'peace maker', mostly because i like when everyone gets along. when people are in a fight, i can see both sides. i never really get mad or hate anyone. i think everyone has there own opinions, so i dont mind if you hate twilight, go right ahead!(:

i am trying to keep up grades in highschool as i also try to read, have a life, and keep current on my blog. i dance, and i love robertcoughcoughpattinson. yes, for future references, i AM team edward, but if you team jacob, thats cool too!:) right now, actually, i am watching the latest satruday night live and it has taylor lautner in it, who seems verryyy charming. lol.

so, i hate to leave so randomly, but now im late and sad :( but its okay because i got to post another blog! (sorry if there are grammar mistakes! i have no time to capitalize! haha.) bye, everyone. thanks for following!

Review: "The Juliet Club" Suzanne Harper

Hiya everbody, today is a veryy special day! It is the day I review my first book. I've reviewed books on my old school newspaper, but it was always just acouple sentences. Hopefully everyone approves of my work(:

Summary (from the book):
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Italy . . . Shakespeare . . . but no romance? Kate Sanderson inherited her good sense from her mother, a disciplined law professor, and her admiration for the Bard from her father, a passionate Shakespeare scholar. When she gets dumped, out of the blue, for the Practically Perfect Ashley Lawson, she vows never to fall in love again. From now on she will control her own destiny, and every decision she makes will be highly reasoned and rational. She thinks Shakespeare would have approved.
So when she is accepted to a summer Shakespeare symposium in Verona, Italy, Kate sees it as the ideal way to get over her heartbreak once and for all. She'll lose herself in her studies, explore ancient architecture, and eat plenty of pasta and gelato. (Plus, she'll be getting college credit for it—another goal accomplished!) But can even completely logical Kate resist the romance of living in a beautiful villa in the city where those star-crossed lovers Romeo and Juliet met and died for each other? Especially when the other Shakespeare Scholars—in particular Giacomo, with his tousled brown hair, expressive dark eyes, and charming ways—try hard to break her protective shell?
"In fair Verona, where we lay our scene . . . "

THE JULIET CLUB is a novel about a girl, Kate, who before the novel has began, has been dumped by her first love for a girl who is the complete opposite of Kate. Now, at just the right time, she finds that she's won a contest to go to italy with her dad, where she'll take a Romeo and Juliet seminar taught by her fathers rivel, Francesca Marchese. There, in Verona, she meets two other Americans: Tom and Lucy, and three other Italian: Giacomo, Benno, and Silvia. Three boys and three girls in the most romantic part of Italy. What could go wrong?

This book was powerful yet funny all at the same time. You would think that Harper only wrote in Kate's percpective, but you'll be surprised to be reading from almost every characters view. So, you get an inside look of who likes who, and all the triangles and circles of love. What I especially liked was how as Kate is in Italy, she e-mails her two betsfriends, Annie and Sarah, about everything happening there. As Annie and Sarah begin to see the love forming in Kate's e-mails, they start betting on what will happen, which gives the story more, what should I call it? Pizazz!

If I had to give this book a rating, it would be nine stars (out of ten). Why would I take one star out, you ask? Well, it was well written and it was totally interesting, with a modern twist that I wouldn't expect. The ending put me on edge, and I was happy with who everyone ended up with. The only thing is, through-out the wholeee book no one reveals there feelings for eachother or anything 'till the VERY end. So it kind of annoyed me. You're probably wondering, well if they weren't expressing there love for eachother, what was the concept of the book about?

Well, it was about an ex.girlfriend who becomes jealous and tries to make two people (Kate and Giacomo) become part of a joke. But while she's explaining the 'prank' to an accomplice, Kate overhears, confids in Giacomo (who she currently hates), and they make a plan to pretend fall for their prank, to get the jokesters before they get them. Confusing? I know!

I highly recommend this book. Not strongly, but highly :D

Freaky Book Friday(:

When I say freaky, I mean just a part in a book where the narrator or a character says something in particular that was really weird, freaky, or awkward :D

The Summoning by: Kelley Armstrong
Pages 238-239
Chloe, the main character, is bound and gagged in crawlspace in the laundry room of the house. A dead skeleton is alive and touching Chloe in the dark while she's alone. Then, she pees herself. Yeah, no explanation. Great book, though.

The Pretty Commitee Strikes Back by: Lisi Harrison
Pages 254-255
The five main girls are lost in the woods and they have to make-up and whatnot. This chapter in the book had to be the funniest pages in a book I've ever read. It includes the phrases:
"People eat deer, you know." Dylan perked up.
"If I had to eat one of us for survival, I'd pick Massie"
"You'd make a good desert."
"Pee in your pants," Dylan suggested. "They'll dry."
"You're disgusting." Massie playfully slapped her friend on the arm.
"Maybe." Dylan smiled. "But at least I'm warm." She lifted her long, olive green DKNY cardigan and revealed a massive wet spot on her crotch.
"Ew!" They shouted and took off; even Alicia ran away.

Perfect Chemistry by: Simone Elkeles
Page 118
The main girl, Brittany, throws up on the shoes of a very hot boy, Alex, who was with his crew. Enough said. (This was an amazing book!)

Missing You by: Meg Cabot
Page 236
Jessica, the main chick, calls her bestfriend at her apartment. In the bed next to her bestfriend, is Jessica's brother. Awkwardd....

If you liked these freaky reviews, stick around for more fun(:

fml. such a new slang for the computer,
yes it says exactly what most teens always think
with just three little letters.

fuck my life. i hate it. im depressed like all my friends,
but unlike them, i hide it and try to wear colors
instead of the black they wear.

do you get it now? im in a group along with girls who
like black and think the world is out to get them.
but after listening to them continously, they're so right.

the world is out to get us. death follows us. but that
doesn't mean we should all hide ourselves. we shouls go out
and live the life God made for us. its the better choice.

choose you path people!

Rant on Spongebob.

You know what I've been thinking lately?
I have NO followers OR comments,
yet i right pointless stuff on blogger(:

Anyways, I wanna talk about Spongebob Squarepants. When I had my eighth birthday, or ninth; I can't remember, it was all Spongebob. From table napkins to handout stickers to pinata's. All Spongebob Squarepants.

But, really, where is Spongebob now? Sure, there are still new episodes. But come on! There are never any commericals for an episode of Spongebob that'll premiere "Next Friday!" or whatever.
Don't get me wrong. I love Spongebob. And they are always having brand new episodes for Spongebob. The issue with that, though, is that whenever a new Spongebob premieres, it'll be a movie or part of a week day everyday marathon.

I mean, really, does new episodes have to be part of something super duper special to be watched? Maybe I'm wrong and more children watch Spongebob if they make it seem more like a big event. Maybe it's just better promoting if new episodes are a "Everyday this week at 5:00!" thing.

I don't know, I'm just expressing my opinion to myself. Unless, of course, you're reading this. Then I'd love a comment. I wanna know at least one person out there out of like millions of people is reading my tiny wittle blog(:
